Blenders are such a versatile kitchen appliance, you can use them to make smoothies for a healthy start to the day, or soup to kickstart a dinner party and also for the margaritas after dinner. They are a vital piece of kit to keep in your kitchen and they are no longer a big bulky eyesore. To help you pick we have created a top 5 list to help you pick the best blender to keep in your kitchen.
1. Cuisinart 3.5 Peak Hurricane Pro Blender
The Cuisinart Hurricane is the king of blenders, it’s compact and easy to use with simple pre programmed buttons to make the smoothest of smoothies and soups. Not only is it great at making smoothies, it’ll make soup in no time at all too and it will come out nice and hot, ready to eat straight away. Of all the blenders in this list it is also the most quiet, however you must keep in mind that it is still a blender with a blade that rotates incredible quickly so it will still be loud compared to other kitchen appliances. This is the best blender for crushing all of your fruit and veg into smoothies and soup, however it doesn’t deal with ice as well as some of the others. It will crush it nicely, it will just take longer to do. The Cuisinart Hurricane used 1500 Watts to make short work of everything you throw at it and while this isn’t the highest power in the list, it doesn’t take away from the smoothie making abilities.
As far as cleaning this blender goes, it is an easy task since the pitcher is dishwasher friendly but also very easy to clean by hand. The buttons are also flat making it very quick to wipe down after any spillage. It is also small enough to fit under a kitchen cupboard being only a little taller than 14 inches so it will sit on the counter nicely. As you would expect from such a high quality blender, you get a 3 year warranty on parts and a 10 year warranty on the motor. Overall this is the best blender for making perfect smoothies and soup but it lacks the fast crushing ability when it comes to ice.
2. Dash Chef Series Digital Blender
The second best blender is the Dash Chef Digital Series with its 1400 Watts of power making it great for smoothie and soup making, it does pretty well with ice too. The smoothies come out very smooth just like the Hurricane and the soup is almost on par too, coming out nice and hot. Its easy to use interface with a button for each function makes it very easy to use, even for someone that is no good with technology. The Dash Chef is much taller than its rival sitting at over 19 inches so it may struggle to sit on a counter where there are cupboards above, this may also make storage more difficult. It does have a nice design though so it certainly won’t be an eyesore if it’s left out all the time. This blender offers 6 different speed settings and will blend anything you can throw at it, including ice which it can deal with more efficiently than the Hurricane. As for noise, it is about the same as the blender in the number one spot so no advantage or disadvantage there.
Cleaning the Dash Chef is easy to do just like the Hurricane as it is dishwasher safe and not difficult to wash by hand anyway. It also has discrete cord storage unlike the Hurricane so it won’t get in the way on the side. Overall this is a very good blender that comes at a very reasonable price with a fantastic lifetime motor warranty and a 1 year parts warranty. You can’t go wrong buying this, the second best blender out there.
3. Nutri Ninja Duo Blender
Our third best blender is the Nutri Ninja Duo and it is still a great appliance. It comes with an incredibly useful 24 oz single serve container which is perfect to take with you when leaving the house. In total it comes with 3 containers, the regular 24 oz, a 32 oz multi serve container and a an XL 72 oz container, all of which are very useful in different situations. This blender is really good for making smoothies, almost on par with the others, and also very good at crushing ice (would make good margaritas) but the soup it makes just isn’t in the same league as the other, it doesn’t come out nearly as hot. It has 9 different speed settings powered by 1600 Watts which is a little better when compared to the others. It sits quite high on the counter at 17 inches tall, this is in the middle range for height in this list so it may not fit under some cupboards but most should be okay.
Cleaning this blender is just as easy as the top two as it’s dishwasher safe and easy to clean by hand too. The cord wraps away making it look neat on the side. Disappointingly the Nutri Ninja only comes with a one year warranty for both the motor and parts, which is a shame considering it is on the expensive end of the scale.
4. NutriBullet Rx
The price of this blender is what sets it apart from the others as it doesn’t lack much in smoothie and soup making, however the ice crushing ability leaves a lot to be desired. With the highest power at 1700 Watts this little blender makes short work of smoothies that you can drink from the same container they get blended in saving you more cleaning up, it’s dishwasher proof too so really the clean up is a piece of cake. Being more powerful than the others, as expected it is also a little louder but not too noticeably. Soup wise, this blender will not disappoint as it heats the soup while it blends and although it isn’t as hot at some of the others, it still isn’t bad and beats the Nutri Ninja Duo.
Overall this is very convenient blender with just one button to use it and 3 different blending containers, two of which you can drink out of. This is another tall one though at 19 inches so may struggle to fit under some cupboards like a few of the others but the cord does wrap up to keep it out the way. Our 4th best blender and we are sure you wouldn’t be disappointed by it especially at a price so reasonable with a 2 year motor warranty and 1 year parts warranty.
5. Blendtec Designer 625
If you need to blend a lot of ice and make large portions of margaritas then this is the best blender for you. This is the best blender for crushing ice on this list and uses 1560 Watts of power, it will even make short work of iPhones and other items as you can see on Blendtec’s Youtube channel. That’s the kind of power this blender has. It is also very good for making soup and heats it well by the time it’s finished, however it slightly lacks the smoothie making ability of the others and will take longer than expected to produce a smooth smoothie. The Blendtec 625 is a very nice looking blender though and is available in a range of colours so you can match it to your kitchen and due to its short height (>16 inches) it can sit on the counter under cupboards easily.
The interface is a bit more complicated than the other blenders and will take some getting used to but once you do you will realise how versatile it is.Sadly unlike the others this isn’t dishwasher safe so will need to be cleaned by hand and may increase the clean up time. The warranty it comes with is great though, it has an 8 year warranty for both parts and the motor, which is great. Blendtec provide a lot of recipes for different things you can make in your blender so be sure to check them out.
