Aftershave (or cologne as it is also called) is a perfect gift for him on Valentines or as a Christmas or Birthday present too. We have brought you the best 5 aftershaves and this list is the result of much testing and a long addiction to the nicest and most exclusive fragrances. They are all available in different sizes from the respective retailers so you can pick what is best for you.
Coming in at number 1 is a scent from one of the most exclusive names in fashion, Tom Ford with their Black Orchid Fragrance. It pulls you in with its strong and unique Oriental scent and it doesn’t fade soon either. Being one of the longest lasting and most powerful fragrances we have had the chance to test and while being on the more expensive end, it is well worth the money and once you try it you will understand why.
Next up is from another one of the most famous and established names in fashion, Chanel Allure Homme Sport, which is by far the best from the Allure range. It was difficult choosing between this and Black Orchid for first but this was closely beaten out. This fragrance isn’t quite as strong as Tom Ford’s but it is still a lovely fresh smelling and powerful aftershave.
In third place is an aftershave from one of the most exclusive and expensive fashion houses in the world, it’s Terre D’Hermes by Hermes. Not as strong of a smell as the other but just as nice, Terre D’Hermes is a woody fragrance with heart notes of pelargonium and pepper which makes it a lovely smelling cologne.
At the lower end of the price range of this list is Giorgio Armani’s Armani Code, which is an elegant woody fragrance with the bottle design taking inspiration from the satin lapels of an Armani tuxedo. The oriental spicy aftershave was the winner of the FIFI Fragrance Award of the year in Men’s Luxury in 2006 so the is some backing behind our claims of it being one of the best. With top notes of bergamot and lemon, middle notes of star anise and olive blossom and base notes of leather and tobacco it makes for a very nice and elegant smelling fragrance. On the cheaper side of the list it makes it a perfect gift for him.
Boss Bottled Night by Hugo Boss is not a really nice aftershave but it is great value for money, you can get a 200ml bottle for the price of the other fragrances in 100ml bottles, which is great. An intense spicy and woody scent is what you get from Hugo Boss with base notes of musky louro amarelo, vanilla and sandalwood and top notes of bitter birch leaves, aromatic lavender and citric lemon leaves. This is more of an everyday fragrance than the rest but due to the value for money we just couldn’t leave it off of the list.
